NNS 2023 WORKSHOPS
Neurotrauma 2023 will be providing the following workshops from June 25 to June 28, 2023 . More details of each workshop can be found in the official NNS Program here.
Please note that you must first login to the NNS registry system to sign up for any of these workshops.
NIH-sponsored workshop: Using PRECISE-TBI tools to meet NIH Data Management & Sharing Requirements and Accelerate Preclinical TBI Research, Part 2
The goal of this two-part NIH-sponsored workshop is to engage the Neurotrauma research community regarding the updated NIH Data Management and Sharing Policy and to provide training on the use of PRECISE-TBI data sharing resources.
Both workshop sections feature a combination of instruction and interactive learning activities. PRECISE-TBI tools that promote successful sharing and use of shared data will be discussed including Open Data Commons-TBI (ODC-TBI), preclinical common data elements (CDEs), preclinical TBI models catalogue, and preclinical blast-TBI protocols. Part one of the workshop will focus on the NINDS perspective of NIH Data Management and Sharing Requirements and how the use of ODC-TBI and CDEs can be used to improve data sharing. Part two of the workshop will feature interactive sessions on the use of the preclinical model catalogue, shared protocols, and take a deeper dive into ODC-TBI. Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with NINDS Program staff and NINDS-funded TBI investigators with experience in utilizing CDEs and ODC-TBI to curate, harmonize and share their preclinical data. The two parts of the workshop are interconnected, and attendees are encouraged to attend both parts of the workshop to maximize their Data Sharing experience. PRE-Clinical Interagency reSearch resourcE-TBI (PRECISE-TBI) is funded by the US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and is supported by the Department of Defense (DoD) and the NIH.
