Barclay Morrison III, Dr.

Professor

Dr. Barclay Morrison is a Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Columbia University. His research focuses on the biomechanics of traumatic brain injury at the tissue level and the mechanotransduction pathways associated with post-traumatic cellular dysfunction. He applies quantitative approaches to understand the relationship between mechanical injury parameters and the biological response of injured tissue. By defining critical biomechanical thresholds and universal tissue tolerance criteria, and by studying post-traumatic pathobiology, his work aims to improve prevention strategies and develop novel treatment options.
