Neil Harris is a Professor at the Brain Injury Research Center within the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of California Los Angeles, and a Principal Investigator Research Physicist at the Veterans Administration Los Angeles Healthcare System. He trained at Kings College London, the University of Cambridge, the University of Florida and University College London in preclinical stroke, hydrocephalus and traumatic brain injury with a focus on in vivo brain imaging. He is part of the current research consortia on post-traumatic epilepsy (PTE, EpiBios4Rx), traumatic brain injury (TBI, TOP-NT) and on common data elements in TBI (PRECISE-TBI). His lab is currently involved in TBI research using simultaneous brain circuit analysis and behavior acquisition with and without neuromodulation. The lab is also conducting work on mechanisms of altered memory consolidation after PTE, as well as mechanisms of sensory over responsivity in models of autism.
