Sophie Stukas, PhD, PMP, is the Research Director of the Core Facility for Neurology Biomarker Innovation (CFNBI) at the University of British Columbia (UBC), Canada. UBC CFNBI is a multidisciplinary research core that utilizes state-of-the-art technology to measure biomarkers of neurological injury and disease pathology in blood and cerebrospinal fluid, supporting neurological biomarker research and development activities across the discovery, validation and implementation continuum. Current projects include characterizing the ability of blood-based biomarkers of acute spinal cord injury to characterize injury severity, track the progression of injury, and predict neurologic recovery and outcome.
