Sydney Vita, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Physiology at LSUHSC–New Orleans studying neurovascular consequences of traumatic brain injury (TBI) across the lifespan. Using translational models, her work defines how repeated mild TBI and adolescent alcohol exposure disrupt blood–brain barrier integrity, drive neuroinflammation, and increase later-life neurodegenerative risk and cognitive decline.
