Alexia Hyde, Ms

Senior Research Associate

Alexia Hyde is a Research Associate at the Uniformed Services University (USU), where she currently specializes in studying rat behavior following traumatic brain injury (TBI). She holds a Master of Science in Neuroscience and Neuropsychopharmacology, with a focus on Cognitive Neuroscience and Animal Behavior, from the Université de Bordeaux in France.

Prior to joining USU, Alexia served as a Lab Technician in the Department of Neuroscience at American University in Washington, DC. During her tenure there, she conducted extensive research on how Western-style diets affect hippocampal-dependent memory in rodents. She possesses robust expertise in rodent behavioral testing, including operant conditioning and various learning and memory assessments. Additionally, she is skilled in molecular biology techniques such as RT-qPCR and Western Blots. Her diverse background includes international research roles in Bordeaux and Berlin , and she has co-authored multiple peer-reviewed publications examining reinforcement learning and diet-induced behavioral changes.
