Aysu Kollu, Ms

MSc student

Aysu is a Master of Science student at University of Toronto, completing her graduate studies under the supervision of Dr. Michael Fehlings at the Krembil Brain Institute. Her research focuses on cervical spinal cord injury and explores how combining task-specific rehabilitation with regionally specified neural progenitor cells may serve as a novel therapeutic strategy to promote significant functional recovery. She is particularly interested in how regenerative medicine, neuroplasticity, and rehabilitation science can intersect to address the complex challenges associated with traumatic spinal cord injury.

During her undergraduate and graduate studies at University of Toronto, Aysu has demonstrated a strong commitment to academic excellence, receiving multiple merit-based awards in recognition of her performance. Her work reflects a multidisciplinary perspective that integrates basic science, translational neuroscience, and clinically relevant questions.
