Michael Kyweriga, Dr.

Scientist II

With nearly 20 years as a scrappy problem solver primarily motivated to answer questions with empirical data. My skill set is based around small animal models (rats and mice), specifically surgical implants, behavior, electrophysiology, optogenetics, data analysis, coding in Matlab, building experimental devices, and programming arduinos. I am well known for using hot glue, popsicle sticks, and duct tape alongside $40K equipment to ensure experiments are completed on time and under budget.

When I'm not in the lab I enjoy trail running, local 5K races (zoom zoom!), playing chess, reading, and learning French. My guilty pleasure is consuming and collecting comedy.
