Natalie Jenkins, Dr.

Post-doctoral Fellow

Dr. Jenkins is a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York, where she is completing a fellowship in Advanced Rehabilitation Medicine. She recently received her PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Glasgow, Scotland, bringing a strong transatlantic perspective to her research.
Dr. Jenkins' work sits at the intersection of brain health and post-traumatic neurodegeneration, with a particular focus on the long-term neurological consequences of traumatic brain injury (TBI). A central pillar of her research is advancing understanding of intimate partner violence (IPV)-related brain injury, with a commitment to centering previously underrepresented and underserved populations in both research design and clinical translation.
Her work aims to bridge the gap between basic neuroscience and rehabilitation medicine, with the goal of improving diagnostic and therapeutic outcomes for survivors of IPV-related TBI. Dr. Jenkins is passionate about equity-driven research and advocates for greater inclusion of marginalized groups in neurological studies.
She is currently based at Mount Sinai, one of the leading academic medical centers in the United States.
