I am Dr. Degang Yang, a Chief Physician, Associate Professor, and Supervisor at the China Rehabilitation Research Center (Beijing Bo'ai Hospital). With over 20 years of clinical experience, I specialize in comprehensive rehabilitation for spinal cord injury (SCI), focusing on the management of complex complications such as neurogenic bowel and bladder dysfunction.
My research investigates the mechanisms of neural functional recovery and precision clinical interventions. I am currently leading and participating in major projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the National Key R&D Program. My primary research interests include exploring the role of gut microbiota and short-chain fatty acids in regulating immune responses to promote neural repair, as well as establishing clinical early warning systems for recurrent urinary tract infections based on microbiome analysis.
I serve as the Vice Chairman of the Disability Prevention and Control Committee of the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association. I have published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and was honored with the First Prize of the Science and Technology Award by the Chinese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine.
