Dr. A Mansour is a neurocritical care physician and neuroscientist at the University of Chicago, where he serves as Medical Director of Informatics for the Neurosciences and Critical Care, Vice Chairman for Quality and Informatics- Neurology, and Program Director of the Neurocritical Care Fellowship. His research centers on penetrating brain injury (PBI) and traumatic brain injury (TBI), with a focus on integrating multimodal data—from prehospital decision-making to advanced neuroimaging, electrophysiology, and neuropathology.
He leads several national initiatives, including the national PBI consortium. He leads the HOPE-H Study, a citywide investigation of EMS decision-making in gunshot wounds to the head, and TRACE-PBI, a translational program linking imaging and post-mortem pathology to uncover mechanistic injury patterns. Dr. Mansour also spearheads development of a Neuro-Bioinformatics Core at UChicago to advance data-driven, AI-enabled neurotrauma research.
