Kimberly Zhang, Ms.

High School Research Intern

Kimberly Zhang is a rising senior at San Marino High School (California). Under the guidance of Dr. Zhao Jiang at the Preclinical MRI Center in the Department of Radiology at Stony Brook Medicine, Kimberly investigates therapeutic response in experimental rat brain injury models for traumatic brain injury and stroke using longitudinal multimodal magnetic resonance imaging. She assists with behavioral and MRI data analysis to investigate the the neuroprotective effects of combined hydrogen-enriched water. Kimberly also currently assists with the investigating the genetic, genomic, and neurobiological basis of symbiosis in rove beetles at the California Institute of Technology. She also actively participates in her school's Science Olympiad team and volunteers at her local hospital.
